The Tesla Cybertruck is a true beast on the drag strip, with impressive acceleration and quarter-mile times. In a recent video, the Cyberbeast was able to go from 0 to 60 MPH in just 2.68 seconds and complete the quarter-mile in 11.85 seconds.
It’s interesting to note that the Cybertruck has also been pitted against several opponents in eighth-mile drag races, which seem to suit the truck better than quarter-mile runs. In another showcase, a Cybertruck towing a Porsche 911 faced off against another 911 in an eighth-mile run.
According to Tesla, the Cyberbeast is powered by an 845-horsepower tri-motor drivetrain and claims a 0-60 MPH time of 2.6 seconds. The truck didn’t quite hit that figure in this video, but its best time of 2.68 seconds is very close. Similarly, while Tesla claims a quarter-mile time of under 11 seconds, the 11.85-second time achieved in these runs is quite close.
Despite its impressive performance, the Cyberbeast is no lightweight, tipping the scales at nearly 7,000 pounds. As the video uploader notes, “This 7,000lb tank can MOOOVE.”
While the Cyberbeast’s performance is remarkable, there are also some challenges associated with heavy electric vehicles, such as limitations in stopping distance and issues with handling at high speeds. Also, their performance isn’t always accompanied by adequate tires or brakes.
Overall, the Tesla Cybertruck is a high-performance truck that’s proven to be a fierce competitor on the drag strip while also delivering remarkable acceleration and quarter-mile times. It’s certainly a force to be reckoned with in the EV market.
