The team at Pebble aims to revolutionize the recreational vehicle industry with their new electrified fifth wheel camping trailer, which was showcased at CES in Las Vegas this year. The vehicle is essentially an electric vehicle with an aerodynamic automotive-grade exterior. It comes with the latest mobile living tech and is designed to fit in at a high-end automotive dealership.

CleanTechnica had the opportunity to meet with the Pebble team at CES 2024 in Las Vegas to get a firsthand look at their electric fifth wheel and learn about its unique features. Pebble stands out with a focus on efficiency, aerodynamics, and a commitment to delivering a vehicle that promises a fun user experience.

Fully Charged

The Pebble Flow is equipped with twin electric motors and a 45 kWh battery pack that enables it to provide propulsion when being towed. This unique feature essentially eliminates the weight and drag range penalties typically associated with pulling a trailer behind a vehicle. In addition to powering the motors, the battery can supply energy to the various home-oriented functions of the vehicle, such as the electric induction cooktop, lights, and coffee maker. The vehicle also includes an integrated NEMA 14-50 outlet, allowing it to serve as a battery backup for the home and provide power to other devices.

Electric Assist

The Pebble Flow can be configured with or without electric motors, providing owners with the flexibility to choose how they want to utilize the vehicle. When equipped with electric motors, the vehicle reduces drag on the towing vehicle, making the towing process more efficient. The Flow’s aerodynamics are further optimized by a front hitch cover housing a mini split AC unit that lifts up vertically to redirect airflow around the vehicle when being towed.

Interior

The interior of the Pebble Flow features a fully air-conditioned living space with a bed, a table, and a kitchen area. There are efficient storage options, a bathroom with a full-size shower, and innovative privacy features, making the Flow a fully functional living space.

Overall

The Pebble Flow is an innovative electric vehicle platform that offers a range of features, including a center-mounted, self-propelled motorized axle, a 45 kWh battery, and a rooftop solar system. The vehicle is designed to support various outdoor adventures and can also serve as an accessory dwelling unit to be parked near a home. Pebble plans to bring the Flow to market later in 2024, and more information can be found on their website.
