Cadillac Lyriq owners can look forward to several exciting updates to their vehicles in March, as announced by General Motors on Friday. This positive news comes amid the somewhat turbulent release of GM’s new electric platform.
The software update includes a number of enhancements, with the most notable being improved functionality of Super Cruise, GM’s hands-off highway-driving system, which should reduce the need for driver interventions. Similar improvements are also expected for the Lyriq’s hands-on adaptive cruise control feature, which automatically follows lane lines and maintains pace with traffic under driver supervision.

Caddy’s first EV
The Lyriq is the first of many Cadillac EVs that the brand plans to release in the coming years. While GM has faced some challenges with its EV plans, the new updates offer a glimmer of hope for the Lyriq.
The update also includes improved touchscreen controls for the garage door opener and glove box, as well as enhanced performance in the myCadillac mobile app.
Today’s software-heavy vehicles make it easier than ever to upgrade them with new and improved features. However, to receive this upcoming update, Lyriq owners will have to visit a dealer, as it cannot be downloaded directly from the internet.

While GM’s transition to a fully zero-emission automaker has faced challenges, the Lyriq has emerged as a bright spot. After a slow start in 2023, GM sold 9,154 Lyriqs last year, surpassing the automaker’s other new EVs by a significant margin.
Notably, GM sold just 482 Blazer EVs, 3,244 GMC Hummer EVs, and 461 Silverado EV pickups. The Bolt EV hatchback and Bolt EUV compact SUV were the best sellers among GM’s electric vehicles, with a combined 62,045 sales, but they have been discontinued to make room for the company’s next-gen EVs.
