Porsche’s 2025 model year upgrade for the electric sports car delivers a longer range, enhanced performance, and fast charging capabilities.

2025 Porsche Taycan gets even more performance

Porsche has been testing the new Taycan model for several months and it’s finally here, upgraded in nearly every way.

According to Kevin Giek, head of the Taycan line, the new electric sports sedan reaches “new heights in terms of performance” with improved driving dynamics. It now offers improved efficiency for longer-range trips. The new 2025 Porsche Taycan models beat their predecessors off the line, with the RWD Taycan Turbo, for example, now sprinting from 0 to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds, 0.6 seconds quicker than the previous version.

A new push-to-pass function (Sport Chrono package) provides a power boost of up to 70 kW, with the top model having a system output of 938 hp, making it the most powerful Porsche production vehicle yet.

Faster Charging and more range

The new Porsche Taycan now supports charging at up to 320 kW under ideal conditions at 800V DC fast charging stations, an increase of 50kW over the previous model. Porsche also included a standard 150 kW DC/DC converter to optimize speeds on 400V networks.

While the official range rating is yet to be revealed, Porsche tested the 2025 Taycan and achieved ranges of up to 265 miles (587 km) with the large battery model. The new Taycan also charges from 10% to 80% in about 18 minutes in ideal conditions, thanks to the Performance Battery Plus with a gross capacity of 105 kWh, up from 93 kWh in the previous model.

Porsche continues to develop its “fast travel” strategy, aiming to achieve shorter charging stops and longer range with the new Taycan.

All Porsche Taycans now come with adaptive air suspension standard, and the new AWD model offers Active Ride suspension as an option. There are also several technical enhancements, including a new rear-axle motor with up to 80 kW more power than the previous version, a modified pulse inverter, more powerful batteries, and a new heat pump for improved efficiency.

New features and improved design

The 2025 Taycan now comes with more standard features, including Lane Change Assist, Ambient lighting, Porsche Intelligent Range Manager, a new cooling system, and others. It also sports new front and rear styling, with the addition of new headlights, taillights, and front fenders.

Interior upgrades for the new Taycan include standard door sill protectors, two new leather-free options in Black and Black/ Slate Grey, an updated instrument cluster, infotainment with added functions, and more deeply integrated Apple CarPlay.
