However, a new study from Cox Automotive suggests that one solution to these challenges is buying an electric vehicle (EV). GM is a major player in the EV pickup market, with 100,000 reservations for its battery-electric pickups.

During GM’s year-end earnings call, CEO Mary Barra revealed that the automaker has 100,000 reservations and orders for EV pickups. This figure includes reservations across all models of GM child brands, such as the Chevrolet Silverado EV, GMC Sierra EV, and Hummer EV.
GM’s lineup of electrified vehicles is set to expand, with new models like the Chevy Equinox EV, Silverado EV RST, GMC Sierra EV Denali, and Cadillac Escalade IQ arriving in dealer showrooms this year.
While GM is committed to EVs, it remains open to pivoting back to ICE-powered vehicles based on market demand.
