BMW Group has introduced a new all-wheel drive variant of the i5, the BMW i5 xDrive40, which is scheduled to begin production in March as a 2025 model-year EV. The price of this variant will fall between the eDrive40 and M60 variants.
The all-electric 5 series was recently added to BMW’s brand of electric vehicles, debuting last year as a 2023 model with the eDrive40 and M60 versions.
There are also rumors of an i5 Touring model in development, but it is not expected to be available in North America. However, consumers in the US can look forward to the third electric i5 variant, the xDrive40, which will begin production in March.

The AWD BMW i5 xDrive40 starts at an MSRP of $70,100
