On March 26, 2023, the Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS) officially informed DVSA that its members have accepted the memorandum of understanding (MOU) regarding measures to reduce car driving test waiting times. The trade dispute has been successfully resolved.
In early March, PCS consulted its DVSA members on the details of the MOU, which outlined the proposed measures to address the issues raised. These measures encompassed member safety, terms and conditions, and the required standards of safety for driving tests. PCS members voted to accept DVSA’s offers outlined in the MOU.
DVSA expressed its satisfaction with the positive outcome of the discussions with the PCS union and welcomed the resolution of the dispute concerning driving test waiting times. The agency emphasized its dedication to reducing waiting times through various initiatives, including the Ready the Pass? campaign.
DVSA acknowledged the hard work of its colleagues in reducing waiting times, highlighting that any industrial action would have hindered this progress. The agency expressed immense gratitude for the continuous efforts of its staff in achieving the goal of reducing driving test waiting times.
