The Tesla Cybertruck’s rearview mirror is small and largely ineffective, especially when the tonneau cover is closed. Luckily, the truck is equipped with a rearview camera, rendering the mirror redundant. If you’re considering removing the mirror, here’s how you can do it:

First, let’s address the issue with the Cybertruck’s rearview mirror. When the tonneau cover is closed, there is no visibility out the back. However, with the rearview camera activated, you can see behind the truck once again.

Mirrors are required in the U.S., unlike in some other countries.

While some countries permit cameras to replace mirrors, the U.S. still mandates mirrors. Therefore, removing your Cybertruck’s rearview mirror is at your own risk.

When the tonneau cover is open, the rearview mirror offers some visibility, although the small rear window and tall tailgate limit the view. Here’s an example:

To remove the rearview mirror, you’ll need a screwdriver and a Torx T20. Simply pop the cover, unscrew the T20, and reattach a plastic panel to cover the hole left by the removed mirror.
