BMW introduced a small electric motorcycle last year, the CE 02. It is considered an eParkourer, a new classification by BMW. Upon closer inspection, it looks and drives like a motorcycle. BMW describes it as, “an icon of the new Urban Mobility scene” meant to move fast, agile, and creatively through the city.

The CE 02 follows the company’s CE 04 scooter and was announced in July 2023. Despite not gaining much initial attention, recent hands-on reviews from MotorTrend and Wired have shed light on its features and capabilities.

BMW describes the CE 02 as “electric, especially appealing to young people, and neither an e-motorbike nor an e-scooter. It’s an eParkourer created for the city and urban environment, with robustness, large wheels, and minimal design.” The CE 02 is offered in two configurations: 4 kW for limited speeds and 11 kW for higher speeds.

Features include different ride modes, such as “Flow” and “Surf,” for different riding experiences. The optional HIGHLINE package adds a “Flash” driving mode for sporty, dynamic riding. The 11 kW version comes with a 48V 3.92 kWh battery, fully chargeable in an hour and 40 minutes, offering a range of up to 59 miles per charge. The CE 02 starts at $7,599, and BMW has an online configurator for customers to build and price their desired version.
