The Tesla Cybertruck has received its first batch of over-the-air (OTA) software updates since deliveries began in November of last year. However, the latest version of the software leaves something to be desired, as Tesla’s Autopilot automated driving assistance program is still missing from the update.
The release notes, posted on Reddit by u/Shygar, reveal that software version 2024.2.3 adds a reminder to plug in if the car is parked at home with less than half of the set Charge Limit, as well as a fix for the small text recall that affects all Tesla models sold in the United States.

Cybertruck OTA update brings small improvements
A batch of software updates were released for the Tesla Cybertruck, bringing minor improvements to the angular electric pickup. However, essential features like Autopilot and Parking Visualizations are still missing from the update.
The previous software version, 2024.2, added Apple Podcasts, custom lock sounds, automatic 911 calls in the case of an accident, an automatic blind spot camera, and the game Castle Doombad.
On the driving side, V2024.2 included an improved battery preconditioning algorithm that automatically adjusts to the power level of each DC charging station, theoretically making charging more efficient.
The release notes also mention an improvement in the ride and handling of the Cybertruck, with a more consistent response on different road surfaces and greater comfort in Sport Mode or when Custom Ride & Handling is set to Focused, as well as reduced pitch and body roll in Off-Road Mode.
While these are all welcome additions, important features like Autopilot and parking visualizations are still missing from the update. Customers who purchased the company’s Full Self-Driving advanced driver-assistance system also remain unable to activate it in the Cybertruck. Virtual locking differentials are not included in the latest update release notes.
This situation is similar to the Fisker Ocean, which has been shipped to customers with basic functionality promises like radar-guided cruise control, but even with the latest software update, owners still cannot use the feature on their cars.
