During the Consumer Electronics Expo (CES) in Las Vegas, Segway revealed two new electric two-wheelers: the Xafari, an electric bicycle, and the Xyber, a borderline electric motorcycle.
Both bikes are officially categorized as electric bicycles in the US, but with the Xyber resembling more of a Sur Ron than a Schwinn in its design.
These bikes mark a significant expansion in the micromobility category for Segway and exemplify their commitment to delivering top-notch technology and performance.
The bikes boast “active scene perception” which allows the bike to automatically take certain actions based on its surroundings, as well as integrate with mobile phone apps for real-time data monitoring and anti-theft measures.
Now, let’s take a closer look at each bike’s specifications.
The Xafari features a wide-tire adventure e-bike design with a removable 913 Wh battery and a 750W rear motor. It boasts a full-suspension setup and 3-inch balloon tires, making it well-equipped for trails and off-road riding.
The Xyber, on the other hand, includes functional pedals and features a power-packed motor and battery for extended range. Both bikes offer unique features that set them apart in the electric bike market.
