Komatsu is set to introduce its cutting-edge PC33E-6 3-ton class electric mini excavator to European equipment buyers at the Intermat 2024 fair in Paris this April.
Aligned with the company’s vision for emission-free operations, the PC33E-6 is expected to offer superior performance with best-in-class features, promoting cleaner, quieter, and safer job sites.
At the upcoming Intermat show in Paris, attendees will get a firsthand look at the PC33E-6, which boasts a powerful 17.4 kW (approx. 25 HP) electric motor and a 35 kWh Komatsu battery pack.
This mini excavator is designed with a high-voltage, 150V architecture and a 400V off-board fast charger that can recharge the battery from 20-100% in just under an hour and 40 minutes.
Mini excavator, maximum performance

Emanuele Viel, Komatsu Utility group manager, highlighted the efficiency and productivity benefits of the PC33E-6, noting its large capacity batteries and rapid charging system that enables continuous operation.
Komatsu aims to build a European market for small electric construction equipment through the new PC33E-6, in line with its target to offer a fully carbon-neutral lineup by 2050. The company asserts that the PC33E-6 can save customers more than its weight in CO2 emissions annually compared to a similar diesel-powered mini, without compromising on performance or safety.
The PC33E-6, initially showcased at CONEXPO last year, is expanding its reach to the European market, strengthening its position as a global offering.
Electrek’s Take
Komatsu’s PC33E-6 signals a step forward in the development of electric offerings within the construction equipment industry. With its focus on enhanced performance, lower emissions, and minimal downtime, it sets a high standard for the industry.
