Living under a rock is the only excuse for not knowing that electric bikes, once a niche market, have skyrocketed in popularity. With e-bikes being adopted by non-cyclists and being used for both transportation and leisure, it is clear that they are now mainstream.
As a result of this e-bike boom, we are now witnessing an increase in electric mobility technology being used for other forms of transportation, including snow machines. Electric snowboards, snowbikes, and full-sized electric snowmobiles are now available for snow enthusiasts. One of these options is the SnowKart, a product of Canadian e-mobility company ENVO, which is significantly cheaper than the MoonBike.
The SnowKart uses a pair of 48V 1000W motors, with two 17.5Ah Li-ion batteries that allow for “2 hours full throttle” and take 8 hours to charge. While the ride time and charge time may be insufficient for some users, additional batteries can be purchased for longer rides. The SnowKart can tow up to 400 pounds and has a maximum speed of 20 km/h (~12.4 mph).
“A fun-filled sustainable go-kart experience for snow lovers of all ages! The ENVO SnowKart is safe, quiet, and easy to use. This electric workhorse is ready for any snowy adventure, from collecting firewood to full backwoods winter exploration or fun-filled racing on a snow track. With a strong powerplant and beefy treads, the ENVO SnowKart is capable in all winter terrains including ice, hard pack, slush or powder.”
For other snow fun, the company also sells a snowbike, as well as a kit for converting its Flex Overland fat tire e-bike into a snowbike. More information is available at the ENVO website.

Here at CleanTechnica, we implemented a limited paywall for a while, but it always felt wrong and it was always tough to decide what we should put behind there. In theory, your most exclusive and best content goes behind a paywall. But fewer people read it!! So, we’ve decided to completely remove paywalls here at CleanTechnica. But…
