According to Honda CEO Toshihiro Mibe, the company aims to remain competitive in the electric vehicle market, emphasizing the need for more affordable EVs. As part of this strategy, Honda is set to expand its lineup with an electric replacement for its all-time best-selling Civic. The company revealed two new EV concepts at CES earlier this month, marking the launch of its new “0 series” electric brand.

Honda to launch an affordable electric Civic replacement

The EV series has been designed with a “bold and pure” aesthetic unique from other EVs currently on the market, placing emphasis on a modern and forward-thinking design. The first passenger EV from the new brand will be a sedan based on the flagship concept, with plans for an electric SUV shortly after.

According to Autocar, the sedan could serve as an electric replacement for Honda’s popular Civic model. Honda is focused on lowering EV prices by developing next-gen batteries that are more affordable and lightweight.
