Electric surfboards and hydrofoil boards are incredibly fun to use on the water, but their prices have made them out of reach for many. Fliteboard has introduced a new line of lower-cost models called Flite AIR to make electric surfboards more accessible to a wider audience.
Fliteboard is part of the boating company Brunswick and has been a leader in the electric hydrofoil board market for years.
Most of the company’s popular models fall in the range of US $10,000 to $17,000, which is common in the industry. This pricing has limited the market for electric surfboards.
However, Fliteboard’s latest models, Flite AIR and Flite AIR PRO, have starting prices as low as US $6,995. This is a significant reduction in cost and makes the electric surfboards more accessible.
Fliteboard’s CEO, David Trewern, described the new boards as being great for use on and off boats, docks, beaches, or for rental applications. The Flite AIR range not only targets professional users but also provides a durable and lightweight option for a wider audience.

The Flite AIR models use a low-cost inflatable design instead of the more expensive carbon fiber boards. This innovative approach significantly reduces production costs and enhances the boards’ durability.
The 5’8″ (172 cm) Flite AIR is more suited for beginner and intermediate foilers, while the shorter 5’2” (157 cm) Flite AIR PRO is designed for advanced foilers.

This step is expected to help more people access electric foiling and make the learning process easier. Electric hydrofoil boards have a steeper learning curve than conventional boards, and the lower cost of the Flite AIR makes it easier for people to enjoy this unique and thrilling activity.
Moreover, the introduction of Flite AIR models at a lower price point will contribute significantly to the growth of electric foiling sport.
And besides, electric surfing sure beats the maintenance and fuel costs of a jet ski!
