A few weeks ago, an article was published about what was thought to be a world record for the most miles on a Chevy Bolt. A reader promptly wrote in and claimed to beat that record by 70K miles!

Reader Dennis V shared the following impressive story:

“I purchased a 2018 Chevy Bolt EV new in March of 2018, with the goal of using it for 300k miles as I will be done commuting to [my job]. I drive 160 miles a day roundtrip to work, averaging 40k miles a year. The battery was replaced under safety recall at 150k miles, with no issues with the original battery. The current battery is showing 61kwh capacity. Very little maintenance has been needed, with brakes being done twice. My workplace has a 30amp level 2 charger, so I usually charge 7-8 hours at work, making it home and back without any issues. I don’t road trip with the car, and have only used a fast charger once. This is my first EV, and while it was a bit of a gamble when I bought it, it has proven to be a great car.”
