While some automakers are introducing new 2024 EV models, Audi has chosen to refresh its Q4 50 e-tron mid-model, naming it the Q4 55 e-tron. This refresh brings significant improvements in performance, handling, and charging speed.
The Audi Q4 e-tron is an all-electric crossover SUV from Audi, part of the company’s initiative to transition its entire lineup from combustion engines to electric vehicles. Initially launched in 2021, the Q4 e-tron is now in its third model year.
Since its debut, the Audi Q4 e-tron has been available in four variants differentiated by price and performance levels. These models included the Q4 35, Q4 40 e-tron, Q4 45 e-tron quattro, and the top-tier Q4 50 quattro.
Audi has unveiled a refreshed version of the Q4 50 e-tron, now known as the Q4 55 e-tron quattro, ahead of the 2025 models.
Audi refreshes 2024 Q4 e-tron mid-model year
Audi USA has detailed the updates to the 2024 Q4 e-tron 55 quattro in a recent press release. This refresh goes beyond cosmetic changes, focusing on performance enhancements.
The battery cell chemistry has been optimized in the Q4 e-tron 55, allowing for charging rates up to 170 kW, up from 150 kW in the Q4 e-tron 50. The SUV can now recharge from 10-80% in just 28 minutes on a DC fast charger, thanks to a new post-conditioning feature for battery cooling.
The improved battery chemistry also extends the range to 258 miles, an increase of 22 miles compared to the 2024 Audi Q4 e-tron 50. Additionally, a revised rear motor delivers 40 more horsepower (335 hp) and accelerates the electric SUV from 0-60 mph in 5.0 seconds, an improvement from 5.8 seconds.
Furthermore, Audi has fine-tuned the suspension of the 2024 Q4 e-tron 55 for better balance and dynamic driving experience.
The steering characteristics and suspension tuning have been specially adapted for the occasion – resulting in harmonious damping, improved steering response, and tighter load control, providing a more balanced and direct driving experience.
Other enhancements include a new 21″ wheel upgrade package with all-season tires. The refreshed 2024 Audi Q4 55 e-tron and Q4 Sportback 55 e-tron will be available at starting prices of $55,200 and $58,200 respectively, arriving in US showrooms in April 2024.
