A new children’s science book about Tesla and EVs, Everything Tesla: From How They Work To How Fast They Go And All The Fun In Between!, has been released today. It is written by twin 9th graders Aiden and Eliana Miao, tailored for kids aged 8 to 13.
Hailing from Palo Alto, California, Aiden and Eliana spent the last 4 years crafting the comprehensive book. Originally planned to be 20 pages, it expanded to over 200 pages as they delved deeper into research and sought to enhance its contents.
The young authors aimed to spark curiosity in science, electric cars, and environmental concerns, spurred by the influence of their parents’ Model 3, heightened by California’s recurring wildfires and smoke-filled days as a consequence of climate change.
During their research phase, they scoured EV news sources and YouTube channels, including Electrek. Their diligent efforts impressed even us, making their book stand out among the submissions we receive.
Eliana mentioned consulting with professors and engineers over the course of the 4 years, ensuring the accuracy of their content. Their persistence and dedication in creating this book from a young age is truly remarkable.
After facing multiple rejections, they eventually found an editor, Alexander Cox, and a designer, Sadie Thomas of LS Design, to bring their vision to life.
