Upon its unveiling in late 2019, the Cybertruck made a splash with its daring design. Alongside it, accessories like the Cyberquad ATV and a tent attachment for the truck bed were also introduced. However, these accessories disappeared from the scene for a few years, only to resurface in altered forms from their original concepts.

In 2021, the Cyberquad ATV transitioned from an off-road vehicle to a smaller version aimed at children after a faulty initial batch prompted a recall by the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Despite Musk’s assurances, the ATV’s original release seems uncertain for now.

Similarly, the tent accessory, known as Basecamp, underwent a long silence before Tesla presented a production-ready version earlier this year. However, the final design received lackluster reviews, resembling a generic, ill-fitting structure rather than the sleek integrated tent promised initially.

Although appearing cheap, the Basecamp accessory comes with a hefty price tag of nearly $3,000. Videos showcasing its assembly like Brandon William’s on YouTube reveal the somewhat straightforward setup process involving attaching the tent to the truck’s frame and inflating it using a manual pump.

While the final product may lack in aesthetics, functionality remains intact. The tent’s storage space is convenient, though accessing items at the back of the truck bed may be a challenge. Camping within the Basecamp is expected to be on par with traditional tents, making some question its value compared to more affordable options on the market.
