Polestar has expanded its electric vehicle lineup in the U.S. with the introduction of its third all-electric model, the Polestar 4. Known as an electric performance SUV coupe, the Polestar 4 rolled off the production line at the Hangzhou Bay factory in China in November 2023, and was recently showcased at the 2024 New York International Auto Show (NYIAS). U.S. sales are set to commence in late April 2024, with customer deliveries expected to begin in the fourth quarter of the same year.

Polestar EV lineup expands

Joining the existing Polestar 2 model, the Polestar 3 (scheduled for Q2 2024) and the Polestar 4 (scheduled for Q4 2024) will make up a trio of all-electric vehicles from Polestar. The Polestar 3 will be produced locally in South Carolina.

In the second half of 2025, the Polestar 4 will also begin production at the Renault Korea Motors (RKM) joint-venture plant, a collaboration involving Geely (Polestar’s parent company), Renault, and Samsung. This version is expected to be exported to North America to avoid tariffs, as it will not be the Chinese-produced model.

Pricing

The Polestar 4 will launch with two primary versions – the Long Range (LR) Single Motor (SM) and Long Range (LR) Dual Motor (DM), each offering optional packages for customization.

The base Polestar 4 LR Single Motor carries an MSRP of $54,900, with an additional $1,400 destination charge for a total of $56,300.

Buyers can opt for the Pilot, Pro, and Plus packages at varying prices to enhance their driving experience with driver assistance features, premium sound, climate control, and more.
